Job summary

Richter's Enterprise Group in Downtown Toronto seeks an Analyst to support bookkeeping, compilation statements, and tax work within a growing professional firm. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, CPA designation pathway support, mentorship, and exposure to diverse client engagements.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or active pursuit is preferred.
• Experience in an accounting firm is an asset.
• Solid knowledge of taxation and regulatory requirements.

• Proficient in MS Office suite.
• Familiarity with Simply Accounting and QuickBooks is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform bookkeeping tasks including bookkeeping of investment activity.
• Prepare Compilation financial statements.
• Determine adjustments (accruals, amortization, etc.) for Compilation statements and propose accounting entries.
• Assist in determining accounting entries to record complex corporate transactions arising from roll-overs, windups, and dissolutions or amalgamations.
• Prepare financial statements for all companies in a related party group and ensure intercompany transactions and accounts are correctly recorded and reconciled.
• Identify business, accounting and tax issues impacting the business in the course of preparing year-end reports and statements.
• Prepare personal, corporate, trust and partnership tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T5013).
• Assess and prepare foreign reporting requirements (and T1135).
• Assess compliance with sales tax (HST/GST/QST) and payroll regulations.
• Assist in the setup of new companies - establish chart of accounts and processes to capture transactions, and obtain corporate business numbers for tax reporting.
• Assist clients on bookkeeping matters (best practices, accrual accounting, regulatory compliance, common controls) in conjunction with year-end engagements.
• Analyze client bookkeeping to ensure compliance with regulatory authorities (personal expenses, taxable income adjustments, payroll matters).

Richter's Assurance Division currently has an opportunity for an Analyst in its Enterprise Group. Below are the responsibilities and requirements of this position.

This position supports the CPA ACT (Assurance, Compilation and Taxation) pathway. While you will work primarily as an Analyst, you will periodically rotate into assurance engagements to gain the relevant experience to meet the CPA Ontario practical experience requirements under the new program.

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$66,500, and employees may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program. Compensation is set in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws and is subject to regular review in order to remain competitive in the marketplace. Salary positioning within this range reflects individual contribution and is based on objective criteria such as internal equity, experience, education, scope of the role and required skills.
