Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. is seeking a New Grad P&C Field Engineer to support data center electrical systems, conducting maintenance and testing on equipment from 480V to 600kV. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service in a dynamic field environment.

The position involves on-site work, daily local/regional travel, and occasional overnight trips. Candidates should have EPC coursework, strong PC skills, and a willingness to learn under OSHA 30 hour and NFPA 70-E guidelines;

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC) or related field.
• Experience performing switchgear testing and troubleshooting is an asset.
• Good PC skills including email, internet, data entry; experience with PowerDB is a plus.
• Must be able to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures.
• OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training; training provided by Shermco.

Responsibilities

• On-site technical support for electrical systems, testing, and troubleshooting from 480V to 600kV.
• Equipment maintenance and inspections, including transformer and relay tests.
• Troubleshooting switchgear, circuit breakers, and relays; resolve issues efficiently.
• Maintain professional client relationships and respond to emergency calls.
• Document service activities with reports and feedback; collaborate on improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement projects.
