Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a New Grad Field Engineer to join our team in the Vancouver area, focusing on electrical power systems in data centers. You will participate in maintenance, testing, and fault resolution to ensure uptime and reliability of critical infrastructure.

As a New Grad, you will work under supervision to perform on-site support, calibrate relays, test switchgear, and document service activities while adhering to safety procedures and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in EPC or related field.
• Experience with switchgear testing is an asset.
• Must follow electrical safety procedures.
• OSHA 30 hour / NFPA 70E training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for installations, testing, and troubleshooting from 480V to 600kV.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and transformer/relay tests.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues including switchgear and relays.
• Maintain professional client relationships and respond to emergencies.
• Document service activities and collaborates with cross-functional teams.
• Travel locally/regionally with periodic overnight stays.
