Job summary

Shermco is hiring a New Grad P&C Field Engineer to join our team in Canada. You will perform on-site support, testing, and maintenance of electrical power systems across data centers, ensuring reliability and safety. The role requires an EPC-related degree and willingness to travel locally/regionally.

You will engage in transformer and relay testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and uptime. OSHA/70E training preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC) or related field.
• Experience testing switchgear and troubleshooting is an asset.
• Strong PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Excel; PowerDB experience is a plus.
• Must follow electrical safety procedures and safety training.

Responsibilities

• On-Site Technical Support: provide on-site assistance with electrical systems, installations, testing, and troubleshooting from 480V to 600kV.
• Equipment Maintenance: conduct routine maintenance and inspections, including transformer and relay tests.
• Troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve technical issues with switchgear, circuit breakers, and relays.
• Client Interaction: maintain professional client relationships and respond to inquiries and emergency calls.
• Documentation: keep detailed service records, reports, and necessary modifications.
• Collaboration: work with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement and innovation.
