Job summary

Combined Metal Industries (CMI) in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a new graduate to join the Operations Leadership Trainee program. You will shadow and support Operations Leaders, learning site workflows and key processes.

Over several months, you’ll gain hands-on experience in safety, production, people leadership, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to lead projects and collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.
• A passion for leadership and the ambition to grow into a management role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A willingness to roll up your sleeves, work on the plant floor, and learn the business from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and support Operations Leaders to understand site-specific workflows and challenges.
• Take ownership of different projects including, optimizing productivity and reducing waste.
• Develop key leadership skills by managing people and teams in real-time.
• Build cross-functional knowledge by collaborating with departments like Fleet & Logistics, Maintenance, Sales, and Business Process Improvement.

About the Program

The Leadership Trainee, Yard Operations Program is designed to fast-track your development into a leadership role within our operations team. Over the course of several months, you’ll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of operations, including:
