The Healing Place is a new Community Contributions Company (C3) social enterprise located on Mayne Island, B.C. Its vision is to restore and rehabilitate the land through holistic practices that blend traditional Indigenous wisdom with modern innovation. We are situated on unceded territories and are taking strides in restoring ecosystems and building sustainable, resilient food systems.
We aim to operate with a multi-faceted approach encompassing growing, hunting, processing, education, food security, restorative agriculture, climate solutions, and healing. Our mission is to bridge traditional knowledge and contemporary practices to mend the environmental and social impacts caused by destructive colonial practices. We seek passionate and knowledgeable volunteers of any age (and encourage elders) to join our board to provide cultural insight, vision, and leadership to guide our work.
Available Positions:
As we’re just starting up, but also as we grow, having input from the communities we aim to serve is crucial. Due date: May 29, 2025 - for a third Director to join David and Susheela. In the coming months, the other two board positions. In the future, we would welcome expanding the board.
