A leading company in Canada seeks a Network Analyst with a minimum of five years of experience in network administration and architecture. The position emphasizes substantial involvement in designing network infrastructures, implementing best practices in security, and managing cloud services. The role requires strong collaboration skills and engagement with multi-disciplinary teams to advance departmental goals.
This position requires a professional with a minimum of five years of recent, hands-on experience in network administration, analysis, and design/architecture. The role is not only focused on day-to-day operational network administration but also significantly contributes to the ongoing enhancement, architectural design, planning, and implementation initiatives within the client's network infrastructure.
The proposed Resource candidate will preferably have the following skills listed below:
1. Demonstrated expertise in architecting Layer 3 Spine and Leaf data center networks utilizing VXLAN with BGP EVPN,
2. Profound mastery of BGP and OSPF routing protocols,
3. Comprehensive hands-on experience with Cisco's suite of networking equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN Controllers, and WAPs,
4. Expertise in managing next-generation firewalls, with comprehensive knowledge of Fortinet's entire suite of security solutions,
5. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure in the context of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS),
6. Additional expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS),
7. Skilled in the configuration and management of load balancers,
8. A deep understanding and implementation of network security best practices,
9. A proven track record in deploying network technologies within organizational technology projects,
10. Excellent collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary project teams,
11. A thorough understanding of enterprise-level networks and the integration of on-premises and cloud environments,
12. Additional experience with LTE and satellite communication technologies,
13. Experience with ITIL frameworks and Change Management processes,
14. Relevant job experience in North America.
Typical activities in this role include but not limited to:
1. Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network to ensure its continuous and efficient operation, complete with thorough documentation,
2. Develop strategic plans for network device evolution, aligning with both current and future business needs and industry benchmarks,
3. Provide expert-level technical support, administration, and engineering for all SaskEnergy network devices to guarantee their optimal performance,
4. Monitor and optimize network performance, swiftly troubleshoot and resolve any system issues to ensure high availability and reliability,
5. Manage network disaster recovery processes, including meticulous planning, implementation, maintenance, and comprehensive testing,
6. Engage with corporate and field employees, promptly addressing technology concerns and escalating complex issues as needed,
7. Implement network equipment updates in accordance with established company protocols to ensure ongoing security and functionality,
8. Maintain system integrity through effective change control, problem management procedures, and consistent communication with internal stakeholders,
9. Stay abreast of the latest networking technologies, certifications, and industry developments to maintain a high level of expertise and adaptability,
10. Contribute to departmental goals by organizing and overseeing work processes and fostering effective teamwork,
11. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in the execution of role responsibilities,
12. Participate actively in team meetings, sharing insights and expertise to drive collective success,
13. Collaborate across diverse teams to develop scalable and adaptable network solutions,
14. Represent Digital Technology & Security with a commitment to the department's strategic goals and objectives.
The key skills and knowledge areas required for the resource are outlined in attached Appendix C – Supplementary Specifications. The Network Analyst must be able to perform in a team environment with strong interpersonal and professional communication skills. Experience in North American jobs is considered an asset for this role. CONTRACT DURATION
The Contract will be effective for an initial term commencing on the date of award and ending on March 31, 2025. The Contract will automatically renew for successive one (1) year terms, a maximum of four (4) times
