Position title: SX7178 - Network Analyst – 2 Resources

Working Status: On-Site

Location: SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina

Preference for start date: July 2025

Mandatory Requirements:

  1. Resource must have at minimum five (5) years of recent, practical network administration experience and design/architecture experience.
  2. Resource must have a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License or equivalent.
  3. Resource must be able to work and be located full-time on site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, SK; Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
  4. Resource must be able to travel outside Regina, SK, including occasional overnight stays as required.
  5. Resource must be able to work on-call on a rotational basis in 1-week intervals.
  6. Resource must be able to attend an in-person interview, if shortlisted.

Description of Requirements

SaskEnergy is actively seeking 2 (two) highly skilled Network Analysts to become an integral part of the Enterprise Networks team. The individuals selected for this role will be instrumental in the operational administration and implementation of the LAN/WAN infrastructure, which is vital for supporting both corporate and SCADA networks. The candidates will collaborate with the team to ensure network infrastructure is configured and implemented according to the latest industry and security best practices.

This position requires a professional with a minimum of five years of recent, hands-on experience in network administration, analysis, and design/architecture. The role is not only focused on day-to-day operational network administration but also significantly contributes to the ongoing enhancement, architectural design, planning, and implementation initiatives within the SaskEnergy network infrastructure.

The proposed Resource candidate will preferably have the following skills listed below:

  1. Demonstrated expertise Spine and Leaf data center networks utilizing VXLAN with BGP EVPN,
  2. Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and maintain various routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP and OSPF,
  3. Comprehensive hands-on experience with Cisco's suite of networking equipment, including switches, routers,
  4. Comprehensive hands-on experience with Fortinet’s suite of networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, and access points,
  5. Comprehensive hands-on experience with Fortinet security tools including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiNAC,
  6. Demonstrated experience in configuring and maintaining network resources in Microsoft Azure including virtual networks, virtual network peering, route tables, Front Door, WAF and network security groups,
  7. Additional expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS),
  8. Skilled in the configuration and management of load balancers and web application firewalls,
  9. A deep understanding and implementation of network security best practices,
  10. A proven track record in deploying network technologies within organizational technology projects,
  11. Excellent collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary project teams,
  12. A thorough understanding of enterprise-level networks and the integration of on-premises and cloud environments,
  13. Additional experience with LTE and satellite communication technologies,
  14. Experience with ITIL frameworks and Change Management processes,
  15. Relevant experience in operating supervisory controls and data acquisition (SCADA) networks,
  16. Relevant job experience in North America.

Typical activities in this role include but not limited to:

  1. Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network to ensure its continuous and efficient operation, complete with thorough documentation,
  2. Develop strategic plans for network device evolution, aligning with both current and future business needs and industry benchmarks,
  3. Provide expert-level technical support, administration, and engineering for all SaskEnergy network devices to guarantee their optimal performance,
  4. Monitor and optimize network performance, swiftly troubleshoot and resolve any system issues to ensure high availability and reliability,
  5. Manage network disaster recovery processes, including meticulous planning, implementation, maintenance, and comprehensive testing,
  6. Engage with corporate and field employees, promptly addressing technology concerns and escalating complex issues as needed,
  7. Implement network equipment updates in accordance with established company protocols to ensure ongoing security and functionality,
  8. Maintain system integrity through effective change control, problem management procedures, and consistent communication with internal stakeholders,
  9. Stay abreast of the latest networking technologies, certifications, and industry developments to maintain a high level of expertise and adaptability,
  10. Contribute to departmental goals by organizing and overseeing work processes and fostering effective teamwork,
  11. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in the execution of role responsibilities,
  12. Participate actively in team meetings, sharing insights and expertise to drive collective success,
  13. Collaborate across diverse teams to develop scalable and adaptable network solutions,
  14. Represent Digital Technology & Security with a commitment to the department's strategic goals and objectives.
