Job summary

BDO Canada seeks a Manager, National Assurance to provide practical, high-impact technical accounting support to assurance teams serving public and private companies. You will advise on IFRS and US GAAP, translating complex standards into clear guidance and practical actions.

You will develop knowledge resources, lead learning sessions, and stay current on developments to strengthen audit quality across the firm. Calgary, Vancouver, or GTA base.

Qualifications

• CPA designation (Canadian CPA) or equivalent
• Public accounting experience in audit and assurance with complex accounting matters
• Advanced technical proficiency in IFRS/US GAAP
• Experience researching, documenting, and presenting technical accounting positions
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities

Responsibilities

• Support engagement teams on IFRS Accounting Standards and US GAAP matters.
• Research standards and provide clear guidance for engagement teams and clients.
• Develop and maintain practical guidance, templates, tools, and communications.
• Design and present technical learning sessions for assurance professionals and clients.
• Monitor emerging accounting developments and translate changes into action.
• Coach partners and assurance teams and manage multiple technical consultations.
