Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a Manager, National Assurance to provide practical, high-impact accounting guidance on IFRS and US GAAP for assurance teams serving public and private companies. The role may be based in Vancouver, Calgary, or the Greater Toronto Area.

The successful candidate will lead technical consultations, develop practical guidance, and mentor professionals across Canada while staying current on regulatory developments and contributing to high-quality engagement execution.

Qualifications

• Canadian CPA designation or an equivalent international designation.
• Public accounting experience in audit and assurance or technical accounting.
• Experience serving public and private companies at manager or senior manager level.
• Advanced proficiency in IFRS Accounting Standards/US GAAP with research and communication of complex matters.
• Experience presenting technical accounting positions to partners and senior stakeholders.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple complex consultations.

Responsibilities

• Support engagement teams on IFRS and US GAAP matters.
• Research standards, evaluate alternatives, and provide clear analyses.
• Collaborate with practice leaders, industry specialists, and firm stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain practical guidance, templates, tools, and communications.
• Design and present technical learning, case studies and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Monitor emerging developments and translate changes into action.
• Coach partners and assurance teams to manage high volumes of consultations.
