Job summary

Clearpoint Health Network Inc is recruiting for a casual surgical centre role with the potential to move to part-time or full-time at Still Creek Surgical Centre. The team delivers world‑class surgical care in a state-of-the-art facility, with a focus on patient safety and high-quality care.

Minimum qualifications include an accredited nursing program and 2–3 years in an acute OR, BC nursing registration, and perioperative certification or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• 2–3 years’ recent experience in an acute care Operating Room.
• Active/eligible for registration and practice permit with the BC College of Nursing Professionals.
• CNA perioperative nursing certification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of care providers to assess, educate, prevent and restore patient health.
• Support perioperative care through preparation, positioning and monitoring of patients.
• Contribute to a patient-focused environment within a brand-new surgical centre.

Position: Casual with possibility to work part-time or full-time.

Benefits working at Still Creek Surgical Centre:

• Wages $60/hr.

Minimum Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program combined with 2 – 3 years’ recent experience in an acute care Operating Room.


• Active/eligible for registration and practice permit with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.


• Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) perioperative nursing certification/Completion of a post-secondary educational institution perioperative nursing program/Equivalent in education and experience.


• Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary team of care providers, with emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of patient health.

Physical Requirements:

• The work environment is physically demanding and may require different levels of physical exertion, such as lifting and transferring patients.


• Must be able to lift/push/pull more than 25 pounds.


• There is a lot of above shoulder requirements for prepping and positioning patients.


• At times, RNs may work in challenging and stressful circumstances, such as in an emergency situation.


• During the course of their work RNs may be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, chemicals and other safety hazards.
