AFL Integria is seeking a skilled MxU Installer to help deliver reliable GPON wiring to multi-dwelling and multi-tenant properties across Calgary and surrounding areas. The role focuses on safe, efficient inside wiring and outside plant cabling while meeting AFL’s high safety and service standards.

The MxU Installer is responsible for installing GPON wiring in multi-dwelling and multi-tenant properties for residential and business customers. This role supports the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of inside wiring and outside plant cabling while working closely with field service leadership to meet safety, productivity, and service standards.

Specific Responsibilities And Resulting Outcomes

• Provide unparalleled customer service excellence
• Ensure diligence with construction site safety through safety orientations with Site Supervisors as required based on job site
• Install residential and business Fiber lines from Main Equipment Rooms (MER) to each individual suite
• Place cables from outside to inside via aerial or underground paths
• Operate power tools in a safe manner, respectful of client’s property
• Maintain excellent working condition of Test Equipment
• Conduct Optical Power Meter testing of fiber connections;
• Troubleshoot technical issues swiftly and accurately;
• Work indoors and outdoors at customer locations and in manholes as required;
• Responsible for administrative tasks, including expense reports
• Help build and maintain positive relations within the team
• Protect organizations’ values by keeping information confidential
• Enhance organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment
• Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL
• Employee may be asked to perform other ancillary or related duties as required, to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

• Telecommunications experience related to inside or outside plant preferred
• Cabling and wiring experience in fields such as structured wiring, alarming wiring or equivalent preferred
• Valid class 5 driver’s license preferred. May be required to operate Company Vehicle and meet AFL’s internal Motor Vehicle policy

Required Knowledge & Experience

• Passion for customer service
• Strong mechanical, technical and analytical ability
• Ability to do fine, precise work with their hands
• Ability to work on extension ladders or step ladders
• Proficient in operating hand and power tools, and test equipment
• Normal color vision to work with color-coded wiringAbility to effectively handle both favorable and unfavorable customer interactions
• Fluent in English (reading, writing and conversational)
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Successful criminal background check is required
