Job summary

Qualifications

• University degree with minimum three years’ experience in direct project coordination for low to medium complexity projects.
• Understanding of PMI project management principles and practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication, active listening, negotiation, presentation and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience in municipal government or operations environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and financial analysis.
• Self-starter who works well independently and in a team.
• Lean concepts and experience with Lean reviews and recommendations.
• Experience with primary and secondary research and data collection; proficient with computers.
• PMP credential is an asset.
• 1–2 years of team lead or mentorship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze impacts of legislative/regulatory and municipal changes on Technical Services operations and deliver projects to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate bylaw updates, liaise with stakeholders, and monitor progress for timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones and deliverables for process improvements and SOPs.
• Assist in creating and maintaining project documentation and agreements.
• Apply cash handling procedures and financial analysis to processes.
• Write corporate reports to Leadership Team and Committees of Council.
• Monitor progress and identify issues or areas for improvement.
• Coordinate status updates and communications with stakeholders, including presentations and reports.
• Contribute to budgeting and resource management for Technical Services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
