The City of Mississauga seeks a Business Analyst in Economic Development Research to guide strategy, business growth initiatives, and investment attraction in one of Canada's largest and most dynamic cities. This role combines strong analytical skills with applied research, clear communication, and collaborative, inclusive teamwork to support evidence-based decisions and municipal economic vitality.

Hybrid workplace options and a salary range of CAD 91,701 to 122,268, with a 35-hour work week,

Qualifications

Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Economics, Economic Development, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Data Analytics or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

Advance economic research and analysis to inform strategic initiatives related to investment attraction, identifying emerging growth opportunities, supporting local business competitiveness, and strengthening entrepreneurship.
Analyze and communicate the local economic relevance of key business, investment, real estate, and labour market trends.
Develop and maintain databases and business information materials.
Provide project leadership and/or contribute to strategic studies, program development, divisional resourcing, funding applications, and feasibility studies.
Lead and/or contribute to internal and external stakeholder engagement initiatives and special projects.
Represent the division on internal and external committees and working groups.
Respond to ad hoc information requests from internal and external stakeholders, including Council members, City leadership, and industry partners.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
