Job summary

Halton Region is seeking a Project Manager I to lead municipal infrastructure projects in the Engineering, Construction and Transportation Management group. You will manage lifecycle aspects from planning through closeout, coordinating consultants, contractors and internal teams.

You will oversee budgets, schedules and risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement of delivery processes.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Engineering or Applied Sciences.
• Must be eligible to obtain Certification in Ontario as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) within 4 years.
• Demonstrated experience delivering municipal infrastructure projects (planning, design, or construction).
• Experience with water, wastewater, waste management or transportation projects.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage delivery of capital projects from initiation to closeout, including design, procurement and construction.
• Lead procurement of consulting engineering services, RFQ/RFP processes, and contract administration.
• Coordinate and lead consultants, contractors, and vendors with regular reporting and reviews.
• Oversee scope, budget, schedule, risk, and quality across projects.
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Conduct QA of deliverables and ensure compliance with contract documents and standards.
• Represent Halton Region in public consultations and meetings, including reporting to Regional Council.
• Identify and promote innovative technologies and best practices in project delivery.
