Job summary

The City of Brandon is seeking an engineering leader to guide the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure—roads, water, wastewater, and drainage. Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services, you will take projects from the ten-year capital plan through design, tender, construction, and close-out, leading a multidisciplinary team and CCIL-certified lab.

This role offers relocation support and flexibility to work remotely on occasion, with a primary on-site focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a Diploma from an accredited institution
• Professional Engineer (Manitoba) licence or Specified Scope licence
• For P.Eng. applicants: progressive municipal design/construction experience
• For technologists with Specified Scope licence: extensive municipal experience
• About 5 years of contract administration and project management experience
• About 5 years of experience supervising staff

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure planning including budgets and schedules
• Oversee design, tendering, and construction through close-out
• Prepare provincial and federal grant and cost-sharing applications
• Manage CCIL-certified materials lab and multidisciplinary team
• Prepare Council reports and represent Engineering on committees
