Job summary

Town of Drumheller is seeking a Finance Manager to lead day-to-day financial operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Corporate Services, you will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant finances while providing visibility and growth potential.

Responsibilities include accounting, budget coordination, forecasting, year-end procedures, financial reporting, taxation, payroll, and supervision of finance staff. Municipal/public-sector experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or related field.
• CPA designation (or equivalent); municipal/public sector credentials are assets.
• Five years of progressively responsible accounting, budgeting, reporting, and financial systems experience.
• At least three years of supervisory or management experience.
• Municipal or public-sector experience preferred; NACLAA Level I/II or equivalent is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to balance competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Accounting, general ledger, month-end and year-end procedures.
• Budget coordination, forecasting, variance reporting, and financial analysis.
• Financial reporting, statutory filings, and support for the annual audit.
• Property assessment, taxation, and utilities administration.
• Payroll coordination, receivables, payables, and internal financial controls.
• Supervision, coaching, and development of Finance staff.
