Job summary

Knowlton and Newman, part of the Rubix Group, provides 24/7 engineering services. The Technician role is a multi-skilled position responsible for installation, assembly, testing, commissioning, maintenance and repair of industrial systems and equipment.

The role requires an engineering/technical background, ability to interpret drawings and manuals, and experience with hand tools, workshop machinery and test equipment.

Qualifications

  • Proven engineering/technical background in industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • Experience using hand tools, workshop machinery, and test equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse job cards and work instructions to determine scope, status, limitations, and requirements.
  • Inspect, test, assemble, and commission industrial equipment to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal standards.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Record work undertaken, parts used, and time spent, ensuring accurate completion of job documentation.
  • Operate workshop and site equipment safely, in line with training and company procedures.
  • Liaise with customers, colleagues, and management to provide updates and technical support.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and delivered on time.
  • Promote and uphold company values, focusing on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Precision machining of components, including turning, milling, and boring.
