Job summary

Multimatic Inc. in East Gwillimbury, Ontario, is seeking an afternoon shift maintenance technician. You will perform maintenance and repair work in the plant or grounds, ensuring equipment reliability and safe operations.

You will monitor assembly processes to meet quality specifications, troubleshoot issues, manage spare parts, document work orders daily, and contribute to PMP activities to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform all maintenance and repair work in either the plant or grounds.
• Assure all assembly quality specifications are met by continuously monitoring the assembly processes on the equipment assigned.
• Troubleshoot all aspects of the assembly process as required.
• Maintain spare parts and components inventory at appropriate levels.
• Inform the tool crib attendant of low levels or shortage of parts or components in stock.
• Maintain up to date documentation of equipment, including documenting changes and alterations made to all equipment.
• Solve maintenance related problems with minimal interruption to production.
• Participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program and downtime reduction process, following PMP schedule and checklists.
• Prepare a list of problems encountered during the shift and other necessary reports.
• Document work orders in the MVP system daily.
• Participate in developing and implementing latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
• Participate in training to upgrade skills and knowledge to meet changing technologies, customer, government and health and safety requirements.
• Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and reduce costs across manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services, and equipment.
• Advise the Manager of any potential problems and offer solutions.
• Assist in preparing safety and operation procedures and maintaining safe working conditions.
• Assist in the training and development of new hires and apprentices.
• Provide support to Welding Support, Facilities, and Press/Toolroom departments as required.

The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be: $27.72 - $51.44
