Job summary

Bell Media in the Peace region (Dawson Creek, BC) is seeking a full-time Multi-Skilled Journalist for TV and web. You will chase and cover local stories, reporting for television and online platforms with a focus on community-driven news.

The role requires live TV presence, tight deadlines, and collaboration with a News Director. On-site work arrangement with opportunities to expand skills and grow within a vibrant Canadian media team.

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable on camera with a professional presence and ready for live TV.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a mature, professional manner.
• Team player able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong news and web writing skills.
• Degree or Diploma from Broadcast/Journalism or equivalent.
• Experience operating ENG cameras and editing with Premiere Pro.
• Knowledge of Burli is an asset.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role preferred.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract.
• Adequate knowledge of French required for Quebec postings.

Responsibilities

• Develop community contacts; check in with police, fire and ambulance.
• Attend news events, chase stories and follow up on files.
• Attend municipal, school district and regional district meetings.
• Edit and produce stories for TV and web daily.
• Collaborate to brainstorm story ideas and coverage plans.
• Backfill as Anchor on the newscast when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
