A healthcare provider in Nova Scotia is seeking a part-time Health Care Social Worker. This role involves providing a variety of interventions including psychosocial assessments, crisis counselling, and program planning. Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Social Work and have at least two years of experience. The position requires strong counselling skills and an ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team. Competitive hourly compensation of $40.18 to $54.14.

Health Care Social Workers provide a diverse range of interventions to clients and their families, enabling them to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health. These interventions include: psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counselling, resource counselling, and discharge planning and case management.
Health Care Social Workers are actively involved in advocacy, education, program planning, consultation and collaboration on behalf of individuals/groups within the institution and community. The role is multifaceted and dynamic, requiring each Social Worker to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
The Health Care Social Worker is a licensed professional who practices in accordance with a set of National/Provincial Standards and Code of Ethics and Department Procedures, Policies and Standards. The Health Care Social Worker is responsible for supervising undergraduate and graduate students in work placements.
Please note this is a Multi-Unit/Multi-Site position in which the Strait Richmond Hospital has been designated as the home unit. The successful candidate(s) will be regularly assigned to shifts at the Strait Richmond Hospital and Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
