Job summary

Miller Waste Systems is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage multi-provincial payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial laws.

You will calculate compensation, deductions, and garnishments, prepare T4s/ROEs, maintain records, and respond to employee inquiries with accuracy and discretion.

Qualifications

• Formal payroll training and/or significant Canadian payroll experience.
• Minimum 2 years of recent payroll and benefits administration experience.
• Experience with ADP and/or Ceridian; Dayforce preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll legislation including taxes, employment standards, WCB and EI.
• Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly and salaried payroll for employees across multiple provinces.
• Calculate and process new hires, changes, and payments ensuring compliance with government legislation.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll reporting.
• Compile payroll data including garnishments, vacation, benefits and deductions.
• Maintain an accurate payroll records system.
• Generate reports, reconcile payroll accounts, and file remittances and filings.
• Adhere to payroll procedures, policies and compliance standards.
• Review payroll records for terminated employees and ensure proper procedures.
