Job summary

Pacer Group seeks a contract database and backend engineer in Toronto with 2-3 days hybrid onsite work. The role requires deep SQL Server expertise, Azure data services, and strong Java/Spring Boot development for REST APIs and microservices.

The candidate will manage migrations, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps in a hybrid 12‑month assignment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Azure SQL MI and SQL Server DBA.
• Hands-on with T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, ADF, Always On, tuning.
• Experience with migration, HA, DR, and performance optimization.
• Strong development in Java/Spring Boot and REST APIs.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Strong experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI) and SQL Server Database Administration, including database development and management.
• Hands-on expertise in T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Always On, and database performance tuning.
• Experience with database migration, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization across Azure and on-premises environments.
• Strong development experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD, source control, deployment automation, and database release management.
