Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with:

1. Installing, upgrading, and managing databases and instances (SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017).
2. Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
3. Setting and maintaining database standards.
4. Performance tuning of database systems.
5. Diagnosing and troubleshooting database errors.
6. Recommending and implementing emerging database technologies.
7. Creating automation for repetitive database tasks.
8. Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS.
9. Availability for on-call support as needed.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Experience in establishing High Availability configurations including SQL Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On Failover Clustering, Always-On Availability Groups, and Log Shipping.
12. Bonus: experience with PowerShell scripting and NoSQL databases.
13. Hands-on experience with Azure/AWS relational database services.
14. Ability to analyze, solve, and resolve issues in real-time, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
15. Support for L1/L2 level DB2 related work and coordination with customers for DB2 queries and concerns.
