Qualifications

Job description

Performs all duties associated with project management, including scope of work, vendor identification, coordination, implementation, and project closeout. Daily purchases MRO supplies to maintain plant systems.

This position is located within the maintenance department. The work environment includes an office setting and may require walking between the maintenance craft shop and the production plant.

  • Sourcing materials and services, evaluating quality and price for comparable items.
  • Negotiating costs, freight, stock levels, and delivery schedules.
  • Negotiating vendor off-site inventory where applicable.
  • Performing project PO/PR closing according to current guidelines.
  • Maintaining CMMS modules to reflect current plant conditions.
  • Ensuring BOM are established for all assets.
  • Maintaining purchase order systems compliant with current accounting guidelines on tax-exempt purchases.
  • Maintaining the plant asset system to reflect up-to-date plant conditions.
  • Managing MRO inventory levels, ensuring minimum and maximum stock quantities are accurate.
  • Keeping the daily maintenance "checkbook" accurate.
  • Producing weekly purchasing reports as directed, including budget status, weekly, MTD, and YTD spend, and past due POs.
  • Collaborating with accounting to monitor and report open POs to ensure correct accruals.
  • Maintaining an annual "Capital Project Purchasing" file with a summary sheet.
  • Supervising parts room clerks.
  • Assisting in implementing an investment recovery system for surplus equipment or materials, including scrap recovery or disposition to recover capital investments.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Making travel arrangements for maintenance personnel.
  • Daily purchasing of all supplies.
  • Overseeing parts storage and inventory areas to ensure safety, efficiency, and cleanliness; ensuring cycle count schedules are met.
  • Developing processes and workflows for department operations.

Requirements:

High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Access, Word, and Excel; strong math and analytical skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and planning abilities.

Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

3–5 years of MRO or purchasing experience.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to obtain a passport for travel if needed.
