What You’ll Do:

1. Underwrite a variety of complex mortgage applications (A, B, Construction, and Private Lending) with accuracy and efficiency, acting as a strategic problem-solver to structure sound and beneficial deals for clients.
2. Own the submission process, skillfully presenting deals to lenders and securing optimal terms.
3. Serve as a key liaison, effectively communicating with diverse lenders to identify ideal financing solutions for our clients.
4. Contribute to team success by meticulously preparing accurate and efficient approval packages.
5. Apply creative thinking to develop innovative solutions for complex files.
6. Communicate and collaborate effectively within a team environment and directly with clients.
7. Maintain composure and efficiency in a fast-paced, sales-driven environment while providing exceptional client service.

What You Bring:

1. Current licensing as a Mortgage Underwriter in British Columbia.
2. A minimum of 5 years of proven residential mortgage underwriting experience, ideally within the broker channel.
3. Demonstrated ability to read and analyze company financial statements for Business for Self (BFS) clients, with the aim of collaborating effectively with accountants.
4. A natural problem-solving mindset with the ability to approach each application creatively.
5. Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills with meticulous attention to detail, enabling you to manage multiple transactions simultaneously without compromising accuracy.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fostering strong rapport with lenders and clients.
7. Technological proficiency and comfort working with mortgage systems and tools (e.g., Apple, Finmo, DropBox, Mortgage CRM).
8. A positive, team-oriented attitude, recognizing the importance of collaboration and a fun work environment.
9. Knowledge of mortgage fraud risk and the ability to address potential misrepresentation concerns.
10. Ability to work from our Surrey office (152nd St / 66th Ave).
11. Multilingual abilities are an asset to connect with our diverse client base.
