About The Role

Reporting to Wealthsimple’s Principal Broker, the selected mortgage broker will be responsible for connecting clients with mortgage solutions and driving business growth. No pre-existing book of business is required. Our ideal hire has a builder mindset, is detail-oriented, action-oriented, and proactive. They own their role and continuously help identify ways to improve processes and controls while mitigating risk. It is essential that this person manages time well, keeps on top of deliverables, and has the potential to grow with us. Must be a licensed mortgage broker in at least 1 Canadian province. Experience in lending products or other sales functions is a strong plus.

Key Capabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert advice, and guiding clients through the mortgage process
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging their industry knowledge
  • Partner with Wealthsimple's legal, compliance, product, and marketing teams to ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements and company objectives
  • Stay informed about regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks
  • Track and analyze their sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth

  • Mortgage Guru:They love being a mortgage broker. Guiding clients through their mortgage journey is their passion and they always put client experience first.
  • Problem-solving: If something seems off, they want to figure out what’s going on; they enjoy navigating uncertainty, bringing clarity to ambiguity, and don’t wait for a playbook to be written
  • Proactive Action Oriented: They act without being told what to do, taking full ownership of work and proactively seeking help and input when needed to provide well-supported solutions
  • Efficiency: They can produce significant output with minimum wasted effort; they find the path of least resistance to problem definition, solution, and execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication: Speaks plainly and truthfully. Communicates complex ideas in a simple and easy-to-understand way for any audience
  • Honesty/integrity: Doesn't cut corners; does what is right, not what is politically expedient
  • Relevant experience: Demonstrated success in a commission-based sales role, preferably within the mortgage industry


Compensation:

  • This is a commission-based role, offering substantial earning potential. Details of the commission structure will be discussed during the interview process
