Job summary

Valley Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd. is seeking a field service technician to perform regular service, maintenance, startups, troubleshooting and repairs on refrigeration and HVAC systems.

You will promote service growth as a representative of Refrigeration and HVAC to current and potential customers. A NB Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Journeyman Certificate or Red Seal or active apprenticeship is preferred.

Qualifications

• NB Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Journeyman Certificate or Red Seal or apprenticeship in progress.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract is required.
• Own hand tools, drill, impact and tool pouch.
• Daily travel within service area; company vehicle provided.
• Flexible schedule and 8-hour shifts 5 days a week.
• Position is physically demanding: rooftops, ladders, heavy lifting, working around chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration, air conditioning units, and related HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot on-site mechanical issues.

Position Details

To perform regular scheduled service, maintenance, startups, troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of refrigeration and HVAC systems. You will also be responsible for promoting the continued growth of the service team to current and potential new customers as a field representative of Refrigeration and HVAC.

A qualified candidate will possess a New Brunswick Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Journeyman Certificate or Red Seal or be working through their apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration, air conditioning units and combined heating, ventilation & cooling systems, and repair residential heating and cooling systems


• Troubleshoot onsite mechanical issues


• Perform routine maintenance, service and warranty work


• Interact with our customers


• Follow safe work practices


• Document work performed on service assignments


• Other duties as required to meet customer/business needs

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license with a good abstract.


• Own hand tools, drill, impact and tool pouch.


• Ability to travel daily withing the service area, with some travel to the outer regions as necessary (Company vehicle provided).


• Ability to work a flexible schedule


• Ability to work 8-hour shifts 5 days a week


• Physical requirements of the position include: lifting, pushing and pulling, standing, bending/crouching, reaching, climbing ladders, and working at heights and in tight spaces, as allowed by OHS regulations.


• The job is physically demanding and involves working on rooftops and with materials such as industrial glues and cleaning chemicals.

Benefits

Compensation Range: $23.50-$40.00+ hourly.

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
