Job summary

Valley Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd. is seeking an HVAC/R service technician to install, service and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems in Fredericton, NB.

The role includes troubleshooting, routine maintenance and direct interaction with customers in the field. The ideal candidate holds NB Journeyman/Red Seal (or is in an apprenticeship) and possesses a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.

Qualifications

Valid NB Refrigeration and AC journeyman certificate or Red Seal, or currently in an apprenticeship.
Class 5 driver’s license with a good abstract.

Responsibilities

Install, service and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration, air conditioning units and HVAC systems.
Troubleshoot onsite mechanical issues.
Perform routine maintenance, service and warranty work.
Interact with customers.
Follow safe work practices.
Document work performed on service assignments.
Other duties as required to meet customer/business needs.

Job description

Position Details

To perform regular scheduled service, maintenance, startups, troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of refrigeration and HVAC systems. You will also be responsible for promoting the continued growth of the service team to current and potential new customers as a field representative of Refrigeration and HVAC. A qualified candidate will possess a New Brunswick Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Journeyman Certificate or Red Seal or be working through their apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

Install, service and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration, air conditioning units and combined heating, ventilation & cooling systems, and repair residential heating and cooling systems
Troubleshoot onsite mechanical issues
Perform routine maintenance, service and warranty work
Interact with our customers
Follow safe work practices
Document work performed on service assignments
Other duties as required to meet customer/business needs

Qualifications

Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license with a good abstract.
Own hand tools, drill, impact and tool pouch.
Ability to travel daily withing the service area, with some travel to the outer regions as necessary (Company vehicle provided).
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to work 8-hour shifts 5 days a week
Physical requirements of the position include: lifting, pushing and pulling, standing, bending/crouching, reaching, climbing ladders, and working at heights and in tight spaces, as allowed by OHS regulations.
The job is physically demanding and involves working on rooftops and with materials such as industrial glues and cleaning chemicals.

Benefits

Compensation Range: $23.50-$40.00+ hourly.
