Job summary

The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) is seeking a Mobile Product Owner to shape and evolve AMA's mobile experiences for members across our platforms. You will translate member needs into clear user stories, manage the backlog, and collaborate with design and development to deliver valuable features.

You'll work with Marketing Operations, Analytics, and BI to identify opportunities for new features and improved member experiences, while keeping a practical roadmap and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in digital product roles including mobile apps and digital channels.
  • Strong knowledge of the digital sales funnel, UX, and product development.
  • Experience with customer research and digital marketing is a plus.
  • CSPO or A-CSPO certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience working with interdepartmental teams and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Translate member needs into compelling mobile product experiences via well-defined user stories and requirements.
  • Create, prioritize, and nurture the digital product backlog.
  • Define artifacts with the design team and ensure they become buildable features.
  • Collaborate with development, project management, and business teams to manage risks and schedules.
  • Leverage insights from Marketing Ops, Analytics, and BI to identify feature opportunities.
  • Support end-to-end product lifecycle from gathering requirements to launch.

How You'll Make an Impact

Join the team shaping AMA's mobile strategy. Using your blend of product, UX and technology expertise, you'll leverage member insights and feedback to guide the evolution of our mobile roadmap.

You'll actively participate in creating, prioritizing, and nurturing our digital product development backlog.

Your mission is to translate member needs into compelling mobile product experiences through well-defined user stories, requirements, and product decisions.

You will work closely with our design team to ensure your requirement artifacts become the masterpieces they deserve to be.

As the liaison with our development team, you'll define user stories, manage the backlog, review requirements, and remove obstacles.

You’ll collaborate with our project managers and business counterparts to identify risks, navigate schedules, and ensure our digital projects launch smoothly.

Partnering with our Marketing Operations, Analytics, and Business Intelligence teams, you'll leverage mobile usage data and member insights to identify opportunities for new features and improved member experiences.

You’ll be a key contributor throughout the entire project lifecycle. From gathering requirements to design, development, and launch!

What You Bring to the Table
  • 2+ years of first-hand experience in digital, including digital commerce, product management, mobile applications, marketing, design and/or other related digital domains.
  • Strong knowledge of the digital sales funnel, CRO, UX principles, mobile product development techniques, and design concepts.
  • Experience in customer research/engagement and digital marketing would be an asset.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) certifications would be an asset.
  • Experience working with mobile applications, mobile-first products, or cross-functional teams delivering native or hybrid mobile experiences would be considered an asset.
  • Previous Product Owner experience is not required; however, we are looking for someone with experience working with interdepartmental teams and projects.
  • A university degree in a related field such as business, marketing, information technology, computer science, UX design or equivalencies are an asset.
