Job summary

Commissionaires Victoria, The Islands And Yukon is seeking Mobile Patrol drivers to join our team in Comox, BC. The role offers part-time to full-time opportunities with shifts 1530–2330 or 2330–0730 and reports to the Mobile Supervisor.

Wages range from $22.25/hr to $25.11/hr, with a strong emphasis on safety and professional conduct. Excellent customer service and the ability to work independently in evenings and overnight are essential, along with a BC security licence and a clean driving

Qualifications

• Valid BC security workers licence.
• Valid BC driver’s license with a clean abstract.

• Ability to work under pressure with a calm demeanor.
• Proficiency operating equipment such as cell phones and two-way radios.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a Mobile Patrol motor vehicle in accordance with laws and regulations.
• Conducting security checks at client sites per directives and post orders.
• Utilizing company cell phones, two-way radios and Tracktik app.
• Responding to alarms and conducting House Watch patrol when needed.
• Maintaining punctual shifts, proper dress and professional conduct.

Reports to: Mobile Supervisor

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operating a Mobile Patrol motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and regulations;
• Conducting security checks at client sites according to directives, standards and post orders;
• Utilize company cell phones, two-way radios and Tracktik phone app;
• Conducting alarm response to client sites as needed;
• Conducting House Watch patrol if necessary;
• Attending lone worker sites to check on workers when requested;
• Ensuring incident and shift reports are completed including Run Sheets, Vehicle Inspection reports, Key Muster reports, Tracktik reports, Alarm reports and Inventory reports;
• Reporting for shifts on time, and maintaining proper dress and deportment at all times;
• Reporting any unsafe incidents, practices and/or issues;
• Conducting vehicle checks at start of shifts and ensuring any issues are reported accurately;
• Being respectful towards tools/equipment and ensuring proper key control at all times;
• Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and washed as required;
• Maintaining high standard of work ethic and professionalism;
• Promoting a respectful workplace by displaying a courteous, professional attitude;
• Keeping management aware of any unusual incidents;
• Assisting in the training of new Patrol Drivers, and setting a good example at all times;
• Completing any additional assignment as instructed by the Client Service Manager for Mobile Patrols.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must possess a valid B.C. security workers licence.
• Must possess a valid BC driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
• You have excellent problem solving skills and professional report writing.
• You can work under pressure and have a calm demeanor.
• You are proficient at operating equipment such as cell phones and two-way radios.
• Able to work independently, especially in the evenings and overnight.
• Provide superior customer service to clients and general public.
• Provide access control and security foot patrols as needed.
• Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures.
• Communicate problems or concerns to the supervisor.
• Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
