Job summary

Johnston Equipment is seeking a Road Service Technician to perform maintenance checks and diagnose repairs on lift trucks and carousels at customer sites. You will inspect equipment, identify defective parts, and communicate repair steps to customers. You will also perform preventive maintenance and order parts as needed.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years as a Mechanical Technician, with automotive or HDT certifications an asset. A valid driver’s license and safe work practices are required.

Qualifications

• High school completion or equivalent education proficiency.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent.
• Automotive Certification (310S) or HDT (421A) an asset.
• ICE-IE-P industrial Equipment Propane Certification an asset.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered equipment.
• Experience with hand tools, measuring devices and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Examine overall operational integrity and condition of the trucks.
• Identify defective parts and communicate/execute repair steps with the customer.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and order parts per technical manuals.
• Document and analyze breakdowns per standard procedures.
• Serve as front-line contact between GNJ and customers, combining technical know-how with client interaction.
