Job summary

Helcim is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead our mobile app and hardware team from our Calgary office. You will manage a team of 5-8 engineers and collaborate with a product manager to build, scale, and refine backend components.

The role balances technical leadership, delivery execution, and people management. You will drive the development of native and hybrid mobile experiences, integrate with hardware components, and ensure reliability, speed and usability across the

Qualifications

• Experience leading mobile software teams (5+ years hands-on mobile development).
• Proven ability to coach, develop and retain top talent.
• Strong experience with Kotlin, Swift, and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Ability to translate product goals into technical plans and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver mobile apps for Android/iOS/desktop and hardware integrations.
• Drive technical direction and decision-making with senior engineers.
• Oversee design reviews, implementation plans, and ensure alignment across projects.
• Elevate SDLC with AI/ML tools to improve code quality, testing, and delivery.
• Champion CI/CD, observability, automated testing and secure architecture.
