Job summary

Big Country Equipment Repair Ltd in Canada seeks a Working Foreman to lead a mechanical team at mine sites and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality repairs and maintenance. You will direct daily operations, mentor technicians, coordinate travel and shifts, and uphold company standards on safety and performance.

Licensed journeyman mechanic with mining supervisory experience is required, along with Red Seal, Mine Supervisor Course, and WCB Supervising for Safety Online Course.

Qualifications

• Licensed journeyman mechanic with heavy machinery/mining experience.
• Mining experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Red Seal certification required.
• Mine Supervisor Course and WCB Supervising for Safety Online Course completed.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; capable of leading by example.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site workmanship by BCER employees, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Lead mechanical team daily operations with hands-on repairs and maintenance.
• Coordinate travel and rotation logistics with Workforce Logistics Coordinator.
• Mentor technicians and welders to meet performance standards.
• Ensure PPE, tools, and procedures are in place for safe operations.
• Complete shift crossovers with detailed summaries to leadership.
