Job summary

Elk Valley Resources in British Columbia seeks an Engineer/Engineer in Training, Mining, to develop and optimize long-range plans for Line Creek Operations, covering pit, spoil and haul road design, and life-of-mine scheduling.

The role requires a BSc in Mining Engineering, 5+ years' experience, EGBC registration, and proficiency with XPAC Solutions and Minesight 3D. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum five years of experience in mine planning
• Registered or eligible to register with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia as a Professional Engineer
• Proficiency in XPAC Solutions and Minesight 3D
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data handling

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers-in-Training as part of a collaborative team environment
• Execute mine planning including pit, spoil, haulage and closure design with sustainability considerations
• Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to coal blending results
• Influence site decisions through data analysis and mining best practices
• Develop mine permit applications and amendments ensuring permit compliance and contribute to reserves and resource reporting
