Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) seeks a Mining Engineer to develop and optimize strategic long-range plans to sustain and extend the Life of Mine at Line Creek Operations. You will design pits, spoil, and haul roads, create life-of-mine schedules, and perform strategic evaluations with emphasis on sustainable development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in mine planning.
• Proficiency with XPAC Solutions and Minesight 3D.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-mstarter and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers-in-Training as part of a collaborative team environment.
• Execute mine planning: pit, spoil, haulage and closure design with sustainable development in mind.
• Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to coal blending results.
• Influence site decision making through data analysis and mining best practices.
• Conduct economic evaluations and strategic planning assessments; peer reviews.
• Communicate mine development projects to permitting groups and assist in permit applications.
• Contribute to annual reserves and resource reporting.
