Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Quarry Mining Engineer to provide technical leadership for the Quarry Expansion Project and day-to-day operations of a 2.4 mtpa fixed plant in Canada. You will work with the quarry team to design mine plans, optimize extraction of limestone, shale, and sandstone, and interface with contract mining partners.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Mining Engineering and 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in mining engineering/technical services.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and efficient extraction of limestone, shale, and sandstone with detailed mine plans and designs.
• Interface with contract mining companies on quarry projects, drill and blast, haul road maintenance, and related priorities.
• Perform survey activities for blasthole data collection and field layout design.
• Conduct field inspections of quarries and crushing systems to identify efficiencies, maintenance items, and safety hazards.
• Assist in selecting appropriate mobile and fixed mining equipment to meet plant needs now and in the future.
• Design haul roads, dewatering systems, blasts, dumps, and other quarry structures.
• Supervise heavy-duty mechanics to ensure mining and mobile fleet reliability for plant operations.
• Plan and execute preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, including parts and fluids procurement, and spare parts management.
• Provide shift coverage for Quarry Supervision as needed (vacations, training, absences).
• Promote health, safety, and environmental policies and a culture of safety.
