Job summary

Amrize Canada Inc. is seeking a Quarry Lead Hand to oversee crushing operations and drive health and safety, while maximizing productivity and minimizing costs. The role works with plant staff on maintenance, inspections, and feeding the plant with a wheel loader; day and night shifts may occur.

You will lead safety initiatives, manage frontline teams, and coordinate with Quality and Shipping to resolve production issues. A strong mechanical background and 5+ years in quarry work are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of quarry experience.
• Undergraduate degree, college diploma, or equivalent field experience.
• Experience in heavy equipment operation, preventative maintenance, and a mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in drilling and blasting is an asset.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent people management skills and a disciplined, process-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the plant's health and safety efforts to achieve the highest productivity at the lowest production cost.
• Develop and install a site-level safety culture with zero harm objective.
• Ensure front-line employees comply with health and safety policies and initiatives.
• Lead daily huddles and participate in the JHSC.
• Support shift scheduling to meet production demands.
• Coordinate with Quality and Shipping staff to address quality issues.
• Complete maintenance activities through short-term planning and execution.
• Adhere to MNRF requirements.
• Promote safety culture across work environments.
