Job summary

Nutrien is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator for our Saskatchewan underground mining operations. You will lead CI projects to improve safety, productivity, quality, and cost, collaborating with mine teams and frontline workers.

Five+ years in industrial settings are required, with a preference for potash mining experience. Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork are essential as you mentor interns and help implement new technologies while maintaining safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in industrial environments.
  • Experience in potash mining preferred; underground mining also valued.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Excellent problem-solving and work ethic.
  • Ability to communicate with hourly workers to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement improvements in safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
  • Collaborate with mine department teams to develop solutions and improvements.
  • Communicate improvements with underground workforce and Nutrien network.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement by reviewing mining process performance.
  • Lead studies of mining processes (e.g. borer bit trials).
  • Provide mentorship to mine operations engineering support interns.
  • Entering work requests and requisitions into EAM/Oracle as required to support CI activities.
  • Maintain documentation and prepare reports on CI activities, progress, and outcomes.
  • Promote and demonstrate a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop systems and processes for assessing mining equipment performance.
  • Work with CI team to prioritize CI activities based on data and confirm initiative success.
