Job summary
GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd. is hiring Mini Excavator Operators for a trenching project east of Calgary. This contract runs ~4 to 6 weeks, Monday to Friday, with 8 to 10 hour days.
You will operate a mini excavator to dig, trench, and backfill to grade under supervision while maintaining safety and schedule. Candidates need at least 1 year of hands-on mini excavator experience, a valid Class 5 licence, and reliable transport to site.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on mini excavator operation in construction/excavation.
- Ability to trench and grade accurately with minimal supervision.
- Solid understanding of excavation and trench safety practices.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Operate a mini excavator to excavate, trench, backfill, and grade to project specifications.
- Read and follow grade stakes, line markings, and supervisor directions.
- Dig safely around utilities and follow ground disturbance procedures.
- Maintain safe trench conditions with proper sloping, benching, and shoring.
- Load/move material and debris; perform pre-use inspections and basic maintenance.
- Report issues, hazards, and near misses promptly; participate in daily hazard assessments.
