Job summary

LTL Contracting Ltd. seeks reliable Excavator Operators and Dozer Operators to join our team in Ontario, Canada. The roles involve a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation, with accommodations provided for out-of-town work.

You will operate excavators and dozers, perform grading and trenching, and follow project specs under supervisor guidance. Candidates should have prior excavator experience and a valid Class G license, with a strong work ethic and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

Rotation & Travel Details:

• Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 week off

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators of various sizes and configurations.
• Perform excavation, trenching, ditching, grading, backfilling, and material loading.
• Operate equipment in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and supervisor instructions.
• Perform rough and finish grading as required.
• Safely work around underground utilities, structures, workers, and other equipment.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report any defects, damage, or maintenance requirements.
• Maintain equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
• Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, greasing, cleaning, and basic servicing as required.
• Ensure proper positioning and operation of equipment when working near slopes, trenches, and other hazards.
• Communicate effectively with ground personnel, supervisors, truck drivers, and other equipment operators.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements.
• Follow all applicable Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily records, time sheets, inspection reports, and other documentation as required.
• Work efficiently to meet project schedules and production targets.
• Assist with other construction activities when required.
• Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating various excavators
• Possess a VALID Class G license
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn
• Ability to work well within a team and follow direction
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment
• Ability to travel and work out of town without disruptions
