Job summary

Nhwelmen Construction is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Kamloops-area team. You will work safely in mining or civil construction environments and perform daily inspections of equipment, reporting any repairs needed.

A Class 5 licence and clean abstract are required, with willingness to perform light labour as needed. This full-time role offers an hourly wage of 35–42 CAD, long-term employment for qualified individuals, and a company benefit plan to support your well-being

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience operating a CAT Excavator.
• Class 5 Driver's Licence with clean abstract.
• Operate safely and follow procedures on site.
• Willing to perform light labour tasks when required.
• Excellent communication and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator safely in mining or civil construction environments.
• Perform daily 360° inspections and log maintenance as needed.
• Complete work reports and maintenance logs accurately.
• Adhere to equipment maintenance schedules and safety inspections.
• Support operations with manual labour when required.

Excavator Operators

We are currently recruiting experienced Excavator Operators to join our growing team.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work safely in a mining or civil construction environment following company procedures and policies
• Daily 360° inspection of all equipment for operational and safety checks and advise if repair is required
• Pre-inspection of equipment includes checking all fluid level and ensuring they are topped up as needed
• Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs as required
• Follow equipment maintenance schedule and advise if repair is required
• Regularly perform safety inspection of equipment and tools
• Support operations through manual labour, including shoveling, operating powered equipment, loading and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, light maintenance, and other duties as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification

• Class 5 Driver's Licence and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract

• Operate safely with care and attention to the equipment, the jobsite and the crew
• 3 plus years' experience operating a CAT Excavator

• Familiar with Field Level Hazard Assessment
• Willingness to step out of the cab and perform labour tasks if and when required
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
• Strict attention and compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs

• Experience on other equipment such as dozers is an asset
• Mining experience an asset

• Good communication skills
• Reliable transportation

Location:

BC Interior - project locations are currently within the Kamloops/Thompson area. This is not a camp position.
