Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Mine Trainer for the Upper Beaver Gold Project in Dobie, ON. Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will facilitate training for Common Core and skill-based requirements for the mining department, promoting Company values while ensuring safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities include guiding underground equipment instruction, supporting curricula and SOPs, analyzing training needs, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Train the Trainer certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in underground mine training.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate others.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and guidance on proper use of underground mining equipment.
• Support health & safety and mining training curriculum, schedules and SOPs.
• Lead adherence to safety and environmental standards with the safety and environmental department.
• Assess qualifications and on-the-job training of new employees.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive training records.
• Update training records and assess employees for assigned work.
• Track policy updates and safety standards issued yearly by the Company.
• Follow up on safety-related recommendations.
• Be a safety resource as required.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Health and Safety Department. You will perform training facilitation for areas related to Common Core, or skill-based requirements of the workforce for Upper Beaver operations, with a focus on the mining department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Provide instruction and guidance to employees on the proper use of underground mining equipment;
• Support health & safety and mining training curriculum, training schedules and safe operating procedures;
• Provide leadership necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards in conjunction with the safety and environmental department;
• Assess qualifications and on the job training of all new employees;
• Perform regular training needs analysis and ensure accurate and comprehensive training records are maintained;
• Ensure employees are adequately assessed and trained for their assigned work, as well as updating training records;
• Suggest and track policy updates, regulations, and safety standards issued annually by our Company;
• Follow-up on safety related recommendations;
• Comply with and evaluate training statistics;
• Be a safety resource as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Train the Trainer certification;
• Minimum 5 years' experience in an underground mine training capacity;
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants;
• Demonstrated leadership skills in influencing, conflict management, training of personnel, etc;
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others and initiate change that yields positive results in terms of health and safety;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & EHS software.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 40hours a week,4/3 or 5/2 schedule at our Upper Beaver Gold Project in Dobie, ON.
