Job summary

DMC Mining Services in Sudbury is hiring a Mine Technician for a full-time position on a 7 days on/7 days off schedule. The successful candidate will assist with underground construction activities and ensure project specifications are met. Summary

DMC is currently looking for a Mine Technician to join our team on a full-time contract position in Sudbury, ON, on a 7 days on/7 days off schedule. The Mine Technician will be responsible for assisting with underground construction and development activities, ensuring that project specifications and requirements are adhered to, and assisting with QA/QC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides prominent organizational skills to support the construction team for underground work.
• Works closely with the Project Engineer to ensure all requirements to execute the work are available and supported in a timely manner.
• Regularly audit job boards for missing prints or information.
• Regular audits of material to ensure material is available for upcoming tasks.
• Proficient with surveying. Ability to markup new headings, construction anchors and other civil structures.
• Complete concrete sampling (slump testing, collect break cylinders) as required.
• Complete a detailed report of work being completed on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mining (or Civil) Technology.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• Proficient on a computer with excellent skills in basic programs (Word, Excel).
• Proficient at AutoCAD.
• Exceptional written, oral communication and client management skills.

Additional Information

• We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.
• Hourly Range is expected to be between: $44 to $55 (including hourly incentive bonus).
