Job summary

DMC Mining Services is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Val Caron, Ontario team. You will formulate budgets, proposals, methodologies, and estimates for mining projects, reporting to the Director of Estimating. The role is full-time and hybrid from site or remote.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in underground mine development estimation, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with InEight and P6 scheduling tools. Competitive CAD salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience estimating underground mine development projects.
• Experience with construction estimating.
• Experience with InEight Estimate software (Hard Dollar) and P6 Scheduling.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional time management skills.
• Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Project, and Adobe.
• Ability to work within tight deadlines.
• Strong organization skills with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bid documents, understand client requirements, and define project methodologies.
• Review colleagues estimation bids and proposals.
• Manage estimate preparation and schedules, ensuring on‑time submittals.
• Perform first‑principles calculations to produce project productivities, equipment, and manpower requirements.
• Estimate capital, rental, and operating costs.
• Estimate capital and operating costs, from the first principles.
• Schedule estimate projects and resources.
• Write detailed methodologies to be included with proposal documents.
• Prepare monthly and daily production schedules.
• Provide cash flow projections to generate net present values, rates of return, and paybacks.
• Provide labor, plant, and equipment utilization graphs.
• Prepare and maintain tender documents, including contract language.
• Conduct feasibility studies.
• Baseline budget preparation to support field cost management.
• Establish and implement cost control activities for each proposal.
• Conduct site visits as required.
• Produce documentation for economic appraisals of acquisitions or new mine projects.
• Performance analysis for tasks within the mining cycle.
• Liaise with industry suppliers to maintain a current price database.
• Draw, sketch, and draft drawings as required.
• Support project from start‑up to completion as required.
• Monitor project progress and issue cost reports, as required.
• Advise and facilitate management bid reviews.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Summary

DMC is currently looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team on a full-time basis, based out of our Val Caron, Ontario office. Additional Information

• Salary Range is expected to be between $120,000.00 to $150,000.00 CAD + short‑term incentive plan bonus
