CST Canada Coal Limited ("CST Coal") is a producer and exporter of metallurgical coal for the global steel industry. CST Coal is located in Grande Cache, approximately 400 kilometres west of the City of Edmonton, the capital of the Province of Alberta in Canada.
PURPOSE
This position is responsible for coordinating the survey control for the open pit mine (involving survey pickup of features as they are mined) thereby ensuring operations are provided with accurate designs and engineering with timely updates of mining progress.

Education and Experience
Post-secondary education in Surveying or Geomatics
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Safety attitude and personal commitment to a zero-incident workplace
Ability to work in a team environment is essential
Experience with UAV and knowledge of photogrammetry would be an asset
Experience with Carlson, AutoCAD, Agisoft, and Virtual Surveyor would be an asset
Open to learning and developing new competencies

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent will work at CST Coal's Mine Site on a 7 day on x 7 day off schedule. Being on standby or ready for call-outs is at times necessary due to the nature of the work. Operating a pickup on mountainous terrain in all types of weather and road conditions is routine.
The incumbent is required in an office setting 20% of the time and outdoors 80% of the time and may be exposed to physical hazards while working close to large surface mining equipment, high walls, and rough, steep terrain.
As a condition of employment, the incumbent must comply with pre-employment medical, drug, and alcohol testing. Personal protective equipment provided by or reimbursed for by CST Coal will include an approved hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, hearing protection, protective clothing and gloves, and a safety vest.
