Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) in Sparwood, BC, offers an 8-month co-op starting January 2027 in EVR Digital Systems. The co-op focuses on collaborating with IT teams, improving mining operations tech, and supporting end-user needs on-site at mine locations and multiple offices in Sparwood.

You will participate in safety programs, coordinate system changes, and explore innovative technologies to enhance business operations while gaining hands-on mining IT experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree or diploma in CS/IT/IS or related field.
• Class 5 driver's license or equivalent, without learner’s restrictions.
• Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with roles on mine sites or multiple Sparwood locations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
• Collaborate with a team to continually improve the current mining systems across the operations to improve production, quality, reliability, accessibility, and credibility of EVR Digital Systems
• Collaborate with help desk and network operations teams to determine and resolve end user issues
• Plan, coordinate, and communicate all system changes
• Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
