Job summary

Fort McKay Group of Companies LP in Fort McMurray, AB, is seeking a Shift Supervisor for a Syncrude Aurora site north of town. You will supervise mining crews, coordinate daily production, and ensure safe, efficient use of equipment and staff on 12-hour shifts (days and nights).

This safety-sensitive role requires a High School Diploma, a Class 5 license, CSTS/OSSA/CSO/BSO, 5+ years of supervisory experience in mining or heavy industry, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class 5 License with a satisfactory 3-year Driver's Abstract.
• CSTS/OSS A/CSO/BSO certification required.
• 5+ years of verifiable supervisory experience in industrial/production/mining.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Experience with Dayforce or SAP is an asset.
• Ability to multitask and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide general supervision on mining projects and deliverables.
• Liaise with client and report to Operations Manager as required.
• Organize daily production from forecasts and tasks to optimize equipment and personnel.
• Ensure tasks are performed by qualified personnel and in accordance with procedures.
• Plan each shift to ensure adequate personnel and alignment with contract specs.
• Address team issues and coordinate with HR and HSE as needed.
• Coordinate with Team Leaders and support groups to ensure staff competency and training.
• Identify and mitigate hazards through inspections and observed behaviors.
