Job summary

Wesdome operates the Eagle River Mine near Wawa, ON, seeking a hands-on Sand Truck Operator to perform snow and ice removal, sanding and material movement on haul roads. The role supports road construction, drainage and reclamation activities in a dynamic mining environment.

The successful candidate will work outdoors in changing weather, maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, and coordinate with graders, dozers, excavators and loaders.

Qualifications

• Valid Class AZ Driver’s License.
• 3-5 years of heavy equipment operator experience.
• Experience operating heavy trucks in mining, construction, forestry or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Kenworth T880 with front plow, wing plow, and sanding systems.
• Remove snow and ice from haul roads, parking areas and site infrastructure.
• Apply sand and traction materials to haul roads and high‑risk areas.
• Maintain safe road widths and visibility of berms, signage, and traffic controls.
• Support road construction, rehabilitation, and haul road maintenance projects.
• Perform dust control on haul roads and work areas.
• Conduct pre/post inspection and report defects and hazards.
