Job summary

West Fraser’s Quesnel Sawmill is seeking a General Labourer to support lumber processing operations in central British Columbia. The role includes sorting, stacking, piling lumber, material handling, and assisting with equipment operation and routine maintenance. Adherence to safety procedures is essential.

Candidates should be physically able to work in an industrial setting and be a reliable team player. Day and night shifts are available, and prior experience is not required.

You’ll Do:

• Work in a variety of areas, which may include sorting, stacking, and piling lumber
• Handling and lifting materials
• Operate production equipment as assigned
• Assist other processing workers
• Assist with the routine maintenance and cleaning of the sawmill equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and promptly reporting any malfunctions or issues to the team.
• Strict adherence to company safety standards and follow Safe work practices such as Lock-out, Pre-task hazard assessments, etc.
• Standing for extended periods

You have:

• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Availability to perform day and night shifts as needed
• Good physical condition
• Ability to work repetitive tasks
• Ability to work as a positive team member
• Strong commitment to follow all safety guidelines and protocols, wearing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and taking precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
• Reliable and Excellent work ethic.
• Desire to learn, grow and succeed.
• No experience required.
